Flicker Philly
Please see below for my video interpretation of this structuralist method of filmmaking. The superimposition of simultaneous images is my form of montage to describe the fragmentary experience of the visuals of an urban landscape seemingly at odds with itself. In what ways can perspective and time be altered by the patterned or random ordering of frames which compose a time-based media like film? How much time must be assigned to any one image for it to leave its impression upon the viewer?

Cress Creek
This map serves as a travelogue of sorts about a special place for me back home in Wisconsin. It is a particular stretch of land inhabited by my family, ancestors, and memories. Maps, which normally seem to accentuate my distance from this space, can now be used to draw it "closer" to me by reliving the moments through the map's creation and study of the terrain. Although this map is autobiographical, an outside viewer can experience this personal space in a visceral, episodic manner by clicking along the way and seeing, hearing and reading some moments and meditations that define this particular space for me.
